Frequently Asked Questions:

1. I want to drive my car on the track, can I?

A: Absolutely! All you need to do is complete our New Member Orientation and then you are allowed to drive on track at our sanctioned events.

2. Is my car allowed on the track, even if it is not a race car?

A: Yes, any car you drive on the street is allowed in our street car classes. We have had a variety of cars from pickup trucks and SUVs to sports cars and race cars.

3. Do I need any extra modifications on my car to drive on the track?

A: Nothing other than manufacture’s standard equipment (tires, brakes, seatbelts) in good working condition.

4. Does my personal car insurance cover damage to my car on the track?

A: Some insurance companies will cover damage to your car since our new member orientation is geared toward helping to reduce accidents. If you have any questions about your auto insurance coverage, contact your agent. We also offer additional Participant Accident Insurance specific for our events through Lockton Affinity: more info can be found here.

5. Can my son/daughter drive on track?

A. Yes, as long as they are 14 years of age or older and are accompanied by a parent and have a minor waiver signed by both parents. The skills they will learn in the New Member Orientation will be extremely beneficial in obtaining their state driving license and their everyday driving. Please call the office if you have any questions or concerns: 480-664-3872

6. What should I bring and what do I need to wear?

A: Drivers must wear a Snell or DOT approved safety helmet (less than ten years old and in good condition), must wear long pants and we recommend a long sleeved shirt, and comfortable shoes. We do have free loaner helmets if you do not have one.

7. What do I need to do to prepare my car for the track?

A: Remove all loose items from the interior of your car, including the trunk. Fill the gas tank and set tire pressure to manufacturer’s specifications. Make sure to check all fluids. Driver’s and passenger’s side front windows must be down at all times.

8. Can I bring my convertible car out to the track?

A: Yes, however, you must drive with the top up, unless you have an approved roll bar.

9. When and how can I get started running on track?

A: We provide our New Hire Orientation on Friday or Saturday at any of our scheduled events. You can pre-register over the phone, fax, email, or on-line. Our New Member Orientation starts in the classroom at 8am sharp! Your day will be spent in both the classroom and on the track. There will be two sessions in the classroom and two sessions in the car with an instructor. In the afternoon, you will run two 20 minute sessions with our novice group. Instructors are available at all times to assist you. Generally, your day ends around 5pm.

10. After I complete the New Member Orientation, what is next?

A: You will have your Performance Driving Program License. With this license you will be able to drive in any of our street car groups. You will also have the ability to transition into a race group. If you are interested in the race program, please contact the office or speak to any of the officials or driving instructors at the track- they can assist you in moving into the race group.

11. How much will this cost?

A: We pride ourselves at ProAutoSports at being able to provide a first class driving experience that is safe, affordable, and fun. Your first time out, you must attend the New Member Orientation ($190) which includes your annual ProAutoSports Performance Driving Program Membership. Once you complete the New Member Orientation, you’re Performance Driving Program Membership good until the end of the calendar year- so you only need to pay for track time. For 2011, single days start at $120; if you include early registration discounts and multiple day discounts, you can get the track cost down to $108 a day. Of course there are other expenses tied in to racing- gas, tires, advanced safety equipment, etc. But at ProAutoSports, we strive to keep your on-track cost down.

12. Can I bring a passenger with me in the car?

A: Yes, provided you are done with your New Membership Orientation, the passenger has a helmet, they are 14 years of age or older, and they register at registration and pay $20 for the weekend.

13. How can I find out about upcoming news and events?

14. Who can I talk to if I have questions?
